EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS NETWORK:

Short talks and reception:

‘Forging collaborations and solving problems with industry’

Tuesday 13 September 4.30pm-5.30pm
(followed by a reception 5.30pm-6.30pm)

At OR64 the Early Careers Researcher Network will be hosting an event on the topic of Forging collaborations and solving problems with industry. We hope you'll join us!

The Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network is a network built by ECRs for ECRs! The network is open to anyone beginning their research career in OR, from final year PhD students and Post Docs to academics with under five years of experience. In addition to sharing essential information and developing relationships, we hold two to three events a year on topics requested by network members. Past events have looked at developing academic collaborations in the public and private sectors, perspectives on different career pathways in OR, and leading your first grant.

As a network we pride ourselves on being led by ECRs and providing events that are of most use to our members. Collaborating with industry as an academic was one of the most requested topics by the ECR members, so we are delighted to be offering this opportunity to meet practitioners at OR64. Come along to hear about some of the current business challenges our speakers are dealing with; gain insight into what their day-to-day work life looks like; and network with industry leaders of the future.

Practitioners attending OR64 are also very welcome to attend the event and get involved in networking with our ECRs; this is the perfect opportunity to get to know the up-and-coming talent in UK OR!

Talks will be followed by a short Q&A session and then a drink’s reception for all attendees, where you have an opportunity for friendly and welcoming networking.
